Lightweight starts with design, not equipment or resin. In extrusion molding, the geometric shape of the container determines how the billet is inflated, how the wall is formed, and the stress distribution during cooling and use.
The MEPER BLOW MOLDING team first analyzed the mechanical load path of the stacking bucket through finite element simulation and physical testing. The results showed that certain areas, such as the bottom corner, handle connection, and shoulder transition zone, were subjected to most of the mechanical stress. Other areas, especially the wide sidewalls, used excess materials but did not bring any performance enhancement.
Based on this analysis, the MEPER BLOW MOLDING team conducted a comprehensive redesign of the product, optimizing the geometric shape to improve structural efficiency. Each rounded corner, corner, and transition area has been reconsidered to minimize local stress concentration while maintaining a simple and manufacturable design.
